Lent

The Lent Study Group will commence on Wednesday 24 February after the Eucharist Service.  We will be following the York Course entitled ‘When I survey – Christ’s Cross and Ours.’  Each unit is separate and people are welcome to attend any or all of the 5 sessions.

Donations for this year’s Bishop’s Lent Appeal  can be placed in the red box at the back of Church.

Mothers’ Day

Looking for something different for Mothering Sunday for your mum?  Why not look through the MU Catalogue and make your mum and someone else’s mum special.

Electoral Roll

If you would like to be included on the Electoral Roll, please see Malcolm Griffiths.

Maundy Thursday

Bob Skinner will be taking a mini-bus to Lichfield Cathedral on Maundy Thursday for the Service of the Blessing of the Oils.  There are 15 places available on the bus and the cost of the return journey will be £3.00.  The bus will leave Church at 9.00am and return at approximately 3.30pm.  Please let Bob know if you wish to go.

Ruth’s Chinese Take-away

On 27 March 2010, Ruth will be travelling to China to start a 9-day trek on the Great Wall of China – not the whole 5,500 miles, of course!  There is a group from the military from Uni who are doing the trek in aid of ‘Acorns’ – children’s hospices in the Birmingham area.  They are trying to raise as much as possible and if anyone would like to sponsor Ruth, she will be very grateful for any contribution.

Licensing of Reverend Paula Smith

We are pleased to announce that Reverend Paula Smith will be licensed as Priest in Charge of St Matthew’s, Donnington Wood on Monday 1 March 2010 at 7.30pm.  The Service will be followed by refreshments in the Life-long Learning Centre.

Reverends Paula and Andy are now living in the vicarage.  Please continue to hold them in your prayers as they prepare to start work.

If you require a parking space within the Churchyard for the Licensing, please see Chris.
